High Flight

The moment finally arrived.  We've been telling Nicholas for months now that we were going to take a plane ride very soon to see Grandma Jaggi in St. Louis.  Well, Mimi and I had a baby shower to attend in Dallas this weekend which left the guys free to do something fun and that's what they decided on.  I was a little sad that I missed his very first plane ride but Greg did a great job of taking pictures and videos for me so I didn't miss a thing.  I had no doubts that he was going to love every second of it and he absolutely did.  I wasn't sure if they would still let kids visit the cockpit with all the new FAA regulations, but he not only got to see it but he also got to sit front and center in the pilot's seat.  Now, I know what you're thinking because we were thinking the very same thing - Nicholas, the curiosity maniac, probably shouldn't sit so close to all those buttons and levers.  But the pilot actually encouraged him to touch whatever he liked and even set off a few alarms for cool effects.  The flight was a complete success and Nicholas even slept during the second half of it which just totally blows my mind.  Once they arrived in St. Louis, they spent the weekend visiting Grandma and all the family where I'm sure he was completely spoiled rotten.  But hey, that's what family's for and I'm so glad he got the chance to go and visit them.  I missed my boys so much while they were gone and couldn't have been happier to see my boy's smiling face as he pulled in the driveway last night.  Flying is great, but I like him on solid ground and under my roof way better!

Here's the video of him during the first takeoff.  Just look at that happy little face!  I'm slightly embarrassed to admit this, but I actually cried when I watched it.  Yep, I'm a sap.  No argument.
