Button Pusher

I always joke around about how much Nicholas likes to push buttons, including mine, and yesterday his curiosity struck again when he decided he needed to set off the fire alarm at preschool.  All of the teachers were laughing about the incident when I came to pick him up, which made me feel much better, but unfortunately caused an unnecessary fire drill outside....in the cold.....and the rain.  But that wasn't even the funniest part of the incident.  I had to explain to them where I work and that I had been working earlier in the morning when the fire alarm was called in to be dispatched.  It had quickly been canceled as a false alarm and everyone had teased me that it was probably Nicholas who had set it off.  They all know too well about his ornery streak so we had a good laugh, then carried on about our day without a giving it a second thought.  I didn't REALLY think it would have been him!!!  I didn't know what else to tell them except that I was so, so, so sorry but he's a very curious little boy and it probably wouldn't be the last time that something like that happened.  After we got to the car and I was able to shake off the embarrassment a little, we had a serious talk about how important it is to only use the fire alarm when there is truly a fire.  He looked me in the eye and said "yes ma'am" with the sincerity of a Boy Scout, but I'm not holding my breath.  ☺

  3. That is hilarious! You will never think of a false alarm the same again. That Nicholas is quick. Seriously would have thought those would have been out of reach.
