Greg and I got a VERY special treat this weekend and were able to go on a little trip by ourselves. This was our first official getaway since Nicholas was born and we definitely needed the grown up time! We left Nicholas in the very capable hands of Grandma & Grandpa Hawkins and Mimi & Grandpa Jaggi. I'm really not sure who had more fun - him or them. On Friday night, Mimi & Grandpa took him to a Thunder basketball game and Grandpa was nice enough to send a few pictures from his iPhone. They had him decked out in Thunder gear and the word is that he charmed the pants off everyone. He kind of has the effect on people. Then he switched to Grandma & Grandpa Hawkins on Saturday and got a trip to the zoo. They said he loved all the animals, especially the fish. They both said they could definitely tell that he missed us and kept asking for Mommy & Daddy, but he was able to work it out and move on to something else. As for us, we had an awesome time!! We stayed at the Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa, which was a really nice hotel. We gambled a little, which is always fun. We didn't come away big winners but we didn't do too bad either. I walked away from one slot machine with $300 in my pocket so I'm not going to complain. We also ate dinner at McGill's on 19 which is a beautiful restaurant on the very top floor of the hotel. It was delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves but by Sunday we were ready to get home to our boy. It was no easy task being away from him that long and it was probably the longest drive from Tulsa to OKC that I've ever sat through. Once Nicholas saw us at the door, he didn't seem to believe we were real. It felt so good to hug him tight!
THANK YOU MIMI, GRANDPA, GRANDMA, AND GRANDPA FOR MAKING THIS WEEKEND HAPPEN FOR US AND SO MUCH FUN FOR NICHOLAS!!!! YOU'RE THE BEST!

And of course Sydney got some spoiling from Mimi & Grandpa too! A good time was had by ALL!

What a fantastic time (and pictures)! I am so happy that you two got to get away, and all the grandparents got to get their fill of Nicolas awesomeness.
