San Antonio

It suddenly occurred to me a few months ago that Nicholas, Greg, and I have never taken a family vacation somewhere, just the three of us.  I wanted to get on a plane, stay in a hotel, and visit some place with lots of fun things for us to do as a family.  Almost immediately, San Antonio popped into my head.  So we did a little planning, made some reservations, and made it happen.  We all had such an amazing time together and there was plenty of fun to keep us well entertained - Seaworld, The Alamo, the riverwalk and the riverboats, swimming at the hotel pool, an Armed Forces river parade, and plenty of yummy restaurants to choose from.  Heck, Nicholas was thrilled to just sit on our 21st floor balcony and watch all the activity on the river down below.  I enjoyed every single minute of this trip with my little family and can't wait to do it all again!

Preschool Graduation

Last night was Nicholas' preschool graduation and end of the year program.  I don't know what else to say besides "Where has my baby gone???"  We have had an unbelievably fun time over the last three years at St. Mark and we will miss the church and school tremendously.  Everyone knows him and everyone loves him.  He walks through the halls and all the teachers and students say "Hi, Nicholas!"  I have no idea what public school will be like but something tells me it won't be quite like this.  But even though I want to keep him this age forever, I'm also grateful and proud of the little boy he has become.  He is a well adjusted, outgoing, fun guy who always has a smile on his face and begs to stay at school a few minutes longer when I come to pick him up each day.  (Couldn't be any less like me!)  I hope he stays that way because this school journey of ours is just getting started!
The parade of graduates.  He was SOOOOO proud and waved to the crowd as he walked by!
 Saying a little prayer.
Taking a picture with one of the girls.  They all love him and are swarmed around him most days when I come to pick him up.  And I just found out a few days ago that one of them stole a little kiss while they were playing in class.  He's a charmer for sure.
Showing Daddy the memory book he's been working on all year.
We've gotten one each year of preschool and they're perfect little keepsakes.
And this one cracked me up.  His graduation gift from his teacher was his very own Children's Bible.  He had been talking about it for days and as soon as he got back to his classroom after the program, he sat himself down in the teacher's reading chair and started reading.
And since I haven't posted much lately, I'll toss in some pictures from our weekend at the lake last week.  It's finally getting warmer and Nicholas is chomping at the bit to get out on the big boat and do some swimming!  But until the water gets warm enough, we've settled for fishing instead.  Nicholas caught this guy all by himself, from start to finish.  Granted, he cast his line out then sat his pole down to play for awhile not knowing he'd caught him, but it still counts in my book.

More gopher hunting with Papa.  This has become a beloved lake tradition for the kids.
