Party? What party?

Today was our friend Kacee's 2nd birthday party and I was really excited for Nicholas to have so many kids to play with. I thought for sure he would really enjoy it but I guess he was feeling a little anti-social instead. In typical Nicholas fashion, he was too busy exploring all the new toys to really take part in the celebration.

While Kacee opened her presents....

...while the crowd was singing Happy Birthday...

...and while everyone enjoyed yummy birthday cake.
He was definitely in his own little world but at least he found something that made him happy. And here's his other obsession of the day...

You really can't help but love his inquisitive heart. It makes me smile.

Hangin' With My Crew!

Springtime means outdoor playtime! Our friends Max and Kacee came over yesterday afternoon for a play date in our backyard. They had so much fun running all over, scampering around Nicholas' fort, and jumping in the moonbounce. We really need to get one of those things because Nicholas loves it more and more everytime he's in it. Especially now that he's learning how to really jump! But heavy duty frolicking burns a lot of calories so we had to replenish their tiny little bodies with some delicious Happy Meals! The kiddos were so much fun and we all had the very best time together! There's nothing in the world like good friends!
Just look at these little faces and tell me if there's anything cuter??? Not a chance!

Random cuteness

There isn't really much to announce from our world but that didn't stop me from taking some pictures over the weekend anyway. Enjoy!

This is how I roll! (My fave of the bunch! Seriously, I need this on a t-shirt!)
Hanging with G-Ma and G-Pa while celebrating their birthdays Saturday.

Nicholas' new Thunder piggy bank. WE LOVE MONEY!
Here we're brushing our teeth with the toy toothbrush from his Elmo Going to Bed book. Too bad he doesn't find the real deal quite as much fun.
And having a little cuddle with Sydney before bed.
That's all for now, folks. We'll be back soon!

Happy Easter!

Easter weekend just couldn't have been any better! Ryan, Cindy, and Jillian came up from Texas so the kids got to be together for Easter again, just like last year. The guys all went fishing on Saturday so us girls took advantage of the time and made a trip to the zoo. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for a day outdoors! Nicholas and Jillian got to see all the animals and even got to pet the goats in the children's zoo. Nicholas had to make sure he touched every single one at least once! We also decided to try out the Lorikeet exhibit, where you get to feed the birds, but it turned out to be less than pleasant. As soon as we walked in the door we were dive bombed by bird assasins and left with Janet bleeding and Nicholas crying from getting pecked on the hand. So heed my warning if you ever decide to check this one out!! But we all survived the attack and were able to shake it off with a little playtime and lunch. Both kiddos were completely tuckered out by the time we left....and probably the grown ups too! That evening we had a cookout & birthday cake at Mimi & Grandpa's house to celebrate Ryan and Cindy's upcoming birthdays.

Nicholas was spoiled with Easter baskets and got tons of yummy goodies and fun treats! He thoroughly enjoyed pulling everything out and went a little crazy with the paper grass, which he loved throwing in the air and piling on his head!

I would just like to warn you that there are about a million pictures here. I couldn't help myself, they were all so cute! Happy Easter everyone!
Out like a light on the ride home:

Then we have the Easter baskets.
First up, Mommy's:

Then Mimi's:

And then Grandma's:

He loved EVERYTHING!
Then we have some pictures from our cookout. So much fun!

Gardening with Daddy

The sun has been shining, the temps are rising, and the trees are budding! Spring has definitely sprung!! One of the very best parts of that is getting to garden again. The other day my boys decided they'd plant some flower seeds and see what happens. There's nothing quite as fun as getting your hands dirty and we'll soon see if Nicholas has a little green thumb.
