Play Date!

Yesterday afternoon, Max and Kacee came over for a play date with Nicholas. It's been way too long since they'd been together and they had an absolute blast! As soon as Max walked in the door, Nicholas was glued to him giving him hugs and trying to crawl all over him. Poor kid must have been dying for a little camaraderie! And sweet little Kacee put both of the boys to shame. That girl can talk up a storm and learns new words in the blink of an eye. Hopefully it rubbed off on them a little. I was very proud of Nicholas for sharing his toys and doing such a good job playing with his little friends. He really has a heart of gold...when he's not throwing a tantrum. We hope they had as much fun as we did and come back really, really soon!

Here are us Mommies and the kiddos. Getting a good shot like this is pretty difficult. Out of about 20, this was the only usable one.

Nicholas and Max. At least he's not trying to sit on top of him in this one. I kept having to pull him off.

WARNING! THIS NEXT ONE IS RATED PG-13!!
Ahhh, there's nothing like a good book.
Blowing bubbles in the backyard. Kacee quickly picked up on how to blow the bubbles herself. Nicholas? Not so much. He just wanted to grab the wand.

Watch out Tiger!

Take a good look, folks. It isn't every day you witness a star being born.

My Babies

These are motion shots, therefore a little blurry, but you get the idea. These two absolutely looove each other! Watching them play together brightens any day.

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Yesterday was a great birthday, but as you can see we were completely pooped out by 8:00! Here we're having a little cuddle time before bed. It's our daily ritual and definitely my favorite part of the entire day! Daddy took the day off yesterday so he got some cuddle time too. It was nice to have us all together for an evening. Those days don't happen very often. Thanks everyone for making my birthday so special!!!

The Cowboys are back!

It's game day and the Cowboys are back in action! So in honor of the event, Nicholas donned his trusted Romo jersey. It's a little tighter than last year and probably time for a new one, but apparently the luck hasn't worn off because they came away with a victory!
What a long way we've come over the last year!

Rainy weekend

We hope everyone has had a good weekend. It's been very rainy and dreary so we've had to spend a lot of time indoors. But Nicholas had a pretty fun time anyway. He got to stay the night with Grandma & Grandpa Hawkins Friday night so Mommy & Daddy could go on a date! Then Mimi & Grandpa Jaggi came over Saturday to watch some football and eat dinner with us. Both sets of grandparents spoiling you rotten....JACKPOT!

That Grandpa is just no fun at all! :-)

Here Nicholas is perusing through all his favorite books. He LOVES books! And in case you were wondering, a bucket is still the coolest hat around! Some things never change...

Labor Day Weekend

Having your family around is truly one of the best things in the world! As I said before, Jeff, April, Pop, and the kids were all here for the weekend and it really makes you wish we were closer together so it could be like this all the time. It was so wonderful relaxing, catching up, and playing with the kids. Nicholas loved his cousins Alli, Jake, and Kami and chased them wherever they went. I'm sure he wished he was a little bigger so he could do all the fun things they got to do. I, however, am holding onto his babyhood with both hands!! :-) I can't help it!

Grandma had bought a bunch of fun toys to play with in the backyard. If you notice in most of the pictures, Nicholas is holding onto a Badminton racquet that he absolutely refused to put down. I'm not sure what caused the fixation but you could NOT pry it out of his hands for anything!

Here he is having a sword fight with Daddy!

We found a little lizard in the yard and let Nicholas investigate. The challenge was keeping him from squeezing it to death! We almost didn't win that one...poor little lizard!

And of course, you gotta have some time in Pop's lap....

...and with Uncle Jeff and Aunt April!

For Grandpa

Grandpa is stuck working out of town for the weekend and isn't able to be here while Jeff, April, Pop, and the kids are visiting, so we wanted to let him know we were thinking of him and missing him terribly! We love you, Grandpa!!!

15 Months Old!

Today was Nicholas' 15 month check up at the doctor's office. And it went just about as good as you'd expect. He's just happy-go-lucky flirting with all the nurses until you either put him on the scale or lay him down on the exam table. It sort of resembles a scene from the Exorcist. I totally wouldn't be surprised if his head suddenly did a 360. He just has this attitude of "Feel free to look at me, talk to me, or smile at me but you better not poke me, prod me, or stick me with ANYTHING!" I think the shots totally wiped him out because he came home and took a 2 hour nap! This was even after a 3 hour nap earlier in the day. That's almost like the good old newborn days! He now weighs 24 pounds 2 ounces which puts him at the 45% and he's 31.75 inches long which is the 70%. I'm not sure that's an exact measurement because that would be almost a 2 inch growth in only 3 months! OUCH! He is right on target with all of his development and leaping towards his future. Greg and I are definitely proud parents of a healthy, sweet, loving, and fun little boy!!
