Aunt JuJu Comes To Town

I had the week off for a little vacation time so Aunt Julie came to visit us. It's always such FUN times when she's around! We did a little shopping (Nicholas' absolute favorite! HA!), went out to eat a few times, took a trip to the zoo on a gorgeous morning, and played at the park. But honestly, it doesn't matter what we do while she's here because it's always the best time. It was really tough today as we watched her drive away and Nicholas was crying for her. Believe me, I felt the very same way. :-( Here are a few pictures of our week:

Nicholas helping me clean before Julie arrived. He's obsessed with the vacuum and I'm really quite proud! He's got his mommy's genes for sure!
Lounging with Aunt Julie.

WE LOVE YOU AUNT JUJU!! THANK YOU FOR THE ABSOLUTE BEST TIME!!! HURRY BACK!

Fun On the Farm - Part II

We had another awesome weekend at the farm in Rolla! Nicholas got to feed the fish with Daddy at Meramec Springs and see all the trout in the hatchery. Then we went fishing at the pond that evening and he got to touch his very first live fish. I can't wait until we can throw a pole in his hand and let him go to town. He also got to become reacquainted with the chickens and cows that he met the last time.
But if I had to guess what his favorite part was, it would be the 4-WHEELERS!! He had to examine every singe button and gadget! But thanks to Aunt Kathy, he got to ride his very own!
Good times! We also want to thank Mimi for graciously taking care of Nicholas so Mommy & Daddy could go on a float trip. Thanks Mimi!!

Good times!

What a fun filled weekend we've had! First off, Great Grandma Jaggi, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Cindy, and Cousin Jillian all came to town for a visit. Little Miss Jillian has grown soooo much in a few short months and she's crawling now and pulling up on everything! We even got to watch her eat some yummy peas a couple of times. On Saturday, Cindy and I took the kiddos to the pool and we had a blast! The kids loved the water and us mommies got some much needed sun! We were both laughing at how your skin barely sees the light of day when you have a baby in the house!! When we got back home we needed to wash the chlorine and sunblock off of them so we threw them both in the tub together. I'm quite sure they'll hate us for this someday...
Then today was our buddy Max's 1st birthday party! We got to see all our friends and celebrate the happy occasion with the Brown's. Nicholas got to try out cotton candy for the first time and he sort of reminded me of a junkie. I decided I'd better cut him off after watching him beg everyone in sight for a bite!

Here's Max enjoying his cake. I think you could safely say he was in heaven!

At the start........and at the end...hilarious!!!!

Nicholas also got to hang out with his little girlfriend Kacee. They were pretty much inseparable.
And now for your viewing pleasure.......this first one is GREAT! I had no idea my son had learned so young how to put the moves on the ladies, but he most certainly has skills!!!

This next one is one of his new favorite things. He's evolved from peek-a-boo into the wandering ghost!

WHEW! That was a long post. Thanks for hanging in there with us and we hope you enjoyed it!!!

Little Houdini

Nicholas has been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately. No matter what I do, he just wants to be held and rocked. I'm trying to remain patient and praying that it will pass soon, but Greg and I are definitely stressing over it. Well, this morning during one of his screaming fits at 3am, as I'm walking in to check on him, I get a shock that sends my heart leaping into my throat! I turn the corner in the hallway to his room and see my child running at me crying his eyes out! Wha, wha, WHAT???? Yep, the little bugger managed an Alcatraz-style crib escape. No telling how long he's been planning and plotting that one!!! SCARY!

Daddy's Birthday

Greg's birthday was last week so we invited the family over Saturday for some BBQ and red velvet cake (What else?? It's our fave!) to celebrate! It was Daddy's night but Nicholas was the center of attention. Funny how that happens! He had BOTH grandmas and Grandma Hawkins' best friend, Linda, smothering him with hugs and kisses. He's a pretty shy boy and doesn't really enjoy all the fuss though. Did you buy that? Didn't think so. I don't know that I've met a bigger ham yet! He also learned a skill that he couldn't get enough of:
